Surface Rock Removal

 

We have considerable expertise in surface rock removal, particularly in agricultural situations. Removing surface rock reduces risk of damage to machinery and increases land use and value.

Rock raking - We use a heavy duty track rake to windrow loose surface rock. The machine track is nine meters long and has a working width of 6 meters.

Rock picking - We use a rock picker to collect light windrows and individual rocks. The benefits of this machine is that the reel draws the rocks over an apron which lets the soil fall out back onto the ground. The rocks are collected in the bucket at the rear of the machine and transported to a stockpile or gully. This machine also performs well at picking up sticks and roots. This machine excels in soft soil and on steep terrain. This machine can be used post seeding to pick individual rocks leaving little impact on the emerging crop.

We use loaders and a truck to move rock piles to a convenient location outside the area to be cropped. For example, to creek crossings or gullies to control erosion.

  • Hay Mowing – We operate a New Holland 16" sickle cut mower conditioner which feed in material evenly over the rubber rollers to ensure even windrows for easy baling.
  • Hay Baling – We operate a John Deere baler for 6x4 netwrapped rolls. The baler can also be adjusted to make 5x4 or 4x4 round rolls.
